SAP Technical Analyst
Overview:
The SAP Technical Analyst will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining SAP applications to support business processes. This role requires expertise in SAP ABAP, SAP FIORI/UI5, OData, and other SAP programming technologies. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement custom SAP solutions, optimize system performance, and ensure seamless integration across SAP landscapes.
This position is based in Chennai, India, and will work closely with global teams across the Americas and APAC regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Development & Programming:
- Develop and enhance SAP applications using ABAP, FIORI/UI5, OData services, and CDS views.
- Design, develop, and optimize custom SAP FIORI applications with a user-friendly interface.
- Implement SAP enhancements, user exits, BADIs, and custom reports based on business needs.
- Work on SAP integration projects using SAP Gateway, REST APIs, and middleware tools.
- Perform performance tuning and debugging for SAP programs and interfaces.
System Configuration & Customization:
- Configure and customize SAP FIORI Launchpad for role-based access.
- Develop SAP workflows and automate business processes to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with SAP Basis teams to ensure optimal system performance.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new SAP functionalities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
- Document technical specifications, coding standards, and best practices.
System Integration & Testing:
- Develop and test SAP interfaces connecting SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and third-party applications.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Troubleshoot SAP system issues and provide timely resolution.
Security & Compliance:
- Ensure SAP applications adhere to security and compliance standards.
- Implement role-based access controls (RBAC) in SAP FIORI applications.
- Maintain audit logs and system documentation for compliance purposes.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- SAP ABAP, FIORI/UI5, or SAP Certified Development Associate certification is a plus.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in SAP technical development with a focus on ABAP and FIORI/UI5.
- Strong experience in OData services, CDS views, and SAP Gateway development.
- Proven expertise in SAP debugging, performance tuning, and error handling.
- Hands-on experience in SAP system integration using APIs and middleware tools.
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA development and Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) is desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of SAP ABAP, ABAP on HANA, FIORI/UI5, and JavaScript.
- Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of SAP Workflow and Business Process Automation.
- Good understanding of SAP authorization concepts and security.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
