By joining our team, you will be part of the Engineering department. This department is responsible for the development of our products, from concept to an industrial solution and supports colleagues and customers during the delivery and product lifetime. Engineering consists of 25-30 multidisciplinary team members, divided into two teams: new product innovation (NPI) and continuous product improvement (CPI).
As our Development Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Being responsible for the development and specification of new and the maintenance of existing processes and applications required for our machines.
- Conducting research and performing tests and experiments to apply new techniques within the set requirements.
- Performing risk analyses and technical feasibility studies.
- Developing and preparing test facilities, defining process specifications and developing new applications and features for new projects.
- Solving process related problems in our existing machines and advising on possible new techniques, application of materials and innovations to systems and machines.
- Creating samples for Sales and performing demonstrations for customers.
- Performing proof-of-concept samples for new processes and security features.
Your Experience and Background include:
- Higher or academic educational degree in Physics, Chemistry or similar studies.
- Ability to build bridges across disciplines and between suitable solutions and understand how to steer discussions.
- Ability to look at questions critically, think outside the box and be passionate about new developments.
- Experience with international customers would be a plus.
- Proficiency in Python programming, with experience in image pre-processing techniques and familiarity with image generation tools and libraries (e.g., OpenCV, PIL, TensorFlow, PyTorch) would also be a plus.
- Excellent written and spoken English is required, Dutch and other languages are a plus.
- Since this position includes (international) travel and fieldwork, you must possess or can acquire a valid passport.
