As our Product Marketing Director, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Owning and aligning the credential technology strategy and requirements with the strategic goals of the ASSA ABLOY divisions and HID Business Areas (BA), creating customer value, and driving success of business and financial outcomes (e.g. revenue, gross margin, market share)
  • Developing effective partnerships across ASSA ABLOY Divisions and HID Business Areas (BA), deeply understanding their strategic priorities and infrastructure requirements
  • Collaborating and aligning with internal teams, including Division and BA product management, product marketing, sales, legal, to ensure seamless execution of initiatives
  • Conducting market research to identify customer needs, problems to solve, market trends, and the competitive landscape; use insights to set target markets, product positioning, messaging and differentiation
  • Utilizing market research, define, communicate and maintain credential technology product/portfolio vision, strategy.  Own and drive insight to opportunity to roadmap feature requirements and prioritization; along with its generation plan
  • Creating financial business cases and write epics to execute the strategy
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key customers and industry influencers. Maintain credential technology knowledge and be seen as an expert through workshops, publications, participating in relevant professional societies & speaking at industry events
  • Ensuring close team collaboration and alignment according to SAFe methodologies
  • Writing and tailoring product messaging and positioning for specific markets and personas that communicate the technology value and differentiation, so Divisions and BAs can incorporate into their own documentation
  • Working closely with Divisions and BAs marketing and product teams to provide support for marketing collateral information, technical documentation and materials, and comparison testing to effectively communicate the value proposition across diverse markets and help them win business
  • Owning the end-to-end product lifecycle from insight/ideation to phase out
  • Defining and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), regularly reporting on the success and outcomes. Use data-driven insights to optimize and improve programs and initiatives

 

Your Experience and Background include:  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, engineering, or a related field.  An MBA is preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in product management and/or product marketing for business-to-business technical products
  • 5+ years of experience working with RFID Integrated circuits (IC) and/or credential technology used in the physically access control
  • Experience in lean and agile development methodology (ideally SAFe certified)
  • Experience and Familiar with
    • Cryptographic methods, data security/privacy, secure messaging, key management, credential formats, server/cloud-based credentials, credential provisioning
    • Key mobile credential technologies (BLE, UWB)
    • Industry alliances and standards body organizations (ISO, NFC Forum, EMVCo, FIDO, FIRA, CCC, CSA, PSIA, LEAF, SIA, NIST, etc)
    • Standards and specifications (SO/IEC1443, ISO/IEC15693, Java Card, OSS, PKOC, Aliro, FICAM, PIV, CIV, etc)
  • Market Analysis: Understand market trends, conduct market analysis and competitive analysis. Identify customer problems to solve/pain points and market opportunities utilizing tools like voice of the customer methodologies, personas, journey mapping
  • Business and strategy skills: create and drive strategy with elements like market analysis, segmentation, positioning/value proposition, go-to-market, pricing, product roadmaps. Develop financial business cases and track NPI/epic performance
  • Entrepreneurship skills: Identify business opportunities, drive growth, test-and-learn through MVP approach
  • Leadership skills: Lead and empower cross functional teams; strong cross-functional communication and influencing; portfolio management.  Data-informed and timely decision maker, with the ability to balance business priorities, stakeholders’ perspectives, resources, capacity, and partner needs across the organization
  • Technical skills: deep understanding of technology credential trends and relevant standards (ISO14443, NFC Forum, etc). Understanding of product development practices
