Learn more about Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM®)
Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM®) is a green building certification system administered by the Building Research Establishment (BRE®). The scheme is internationally recognized; however, it is most common in the United Kingdom. BREEAM® UK New Construction scores buildings on a comprehensive list of weighted categories and can achieve different certification levels including Pass, Good, Very Good, Excellent, and Outstanding based on their percentage of credits achieved.
Minimum standards must also be met to achieve baseline certification. Categories covered in this scheme include Management, Health and Wellbeing, Energy, Transport, Water, Materials, Waste, Land Use and Ecology, Pollution, and Innovation.
An important aspect when pursuing BREEAM® certification is identifying products that align with and contribute towards the goals of the project. To aid in these decisions, this document highlights how ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions products may contribute to a variety of BREEAM® credits.
