Cheltenham Racecourse modernised with internal and external ASSA ABLOY Doors

“Our simplified approach meant we were able to assist architects and contractors in the areas which challenged them over the course of the project - this included the scheduling process which required in-depth levels of expertise. The contemporary use of BIM in this project assisted with the building’s whole life costing, sustainability credentials and on-going management.” David Shields, Specification Development Manager, ASSA ABLOY UK Specification

Challenge

The challenge was to complete a full specification for Cheltenham Racecourse, delivered in time for the prestigious 2016 Open, while enabling a continued full race programme during redevelopment.

Solution

ASSA ABLOY UK Specification supplied steel external and security doors alongside internal timber security doors over a 19-month delivery period, ensuring safe but unhindered access and flow around the busy racecourse. The project specification, which ranges from VIP and royal boxes to public and service areas, required careful consideration of different design requirements and the atmosphere that needed to be cultivated
