Marketing Insights Intern

Job Summary

This role is responsible for assisting the Insights team in current category and consumer research initiatives, providing valuable insights into consumer preferences and behaviors.  The intern will gain hands-on experience in market analysis, consumer research, and data interpretation; working cross-functionally to help drive business decisions for a global consumer products company.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Product Marketing, Channel Marketing, Brand Marketing and Sales to support data driven decisions.
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing industry, category and consumer data to identify trends and insights through multiple research tools and data sources.
  • Support the development of surveys and other research methods to gather consumer insights.
  • Help compile reports and presentations that summarize key insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute ideas to discussions related to category and consumer insights.
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects and assignments as needed.

 

Education and Experience Profile

  • Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus.
  • Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in Marketing, Business or Data Analytics.
  • Ideal candidate is in their Senior year and able to work 25+ hours per week.

 

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Basic knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets.
  • Effective communicator, both written and oral.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong emphasis on achieving commitments.
  • Operates with a sense of urgency; identifies opportunities and acts quickly to achieve results.
  • Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn about category and consumer insights.

 

Work Environment:
