Jr Technical Support Specialist for Critical Infrastructure

And we have the fantastic opportunity available in ALCEA, Critical Infrastructure for a Jr. Technical Support Specialist. Reporting to Head of Business Development Critical Infrastructure, you will be responsible for supporting the business in developing technical expertise within our channel, supporting clientele.

What you will do as Jr. Technical Support Specialist

  • Create technical specifications, user manuals, and other technical support documents to assist with product installation and maintenance
  • Create training material and perform  training to partners when necessary 
  • Support the technical arm of the business in the support and deployment of our access management platforms
  • Accompany sales teams and partners with sales activities, deployments and usage in regards to CLIQ projects at customers
  • Provide technical expertise, support and training of the CLIQ product, software and service range in Africa and Middle East

 

What we expect of you
Education, knowledge, skills & experience required

  • Essential: Grade 12 
  • Beneficial: A+, N+, Microsoft Qualification MCSE, MCITP or equivalent
  • Beneficial: Technical Engineering or Tech. School degree  – Electronics/Computer Equipment (PLC’s, Robotics or similar)
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience within the security and access control industry 
  • Beneficial: 4+ years’ experience in server and network administration and automation in an enterprise environment
  • Adherence to wiring and installation standards
  • Ability to logically problem solve on site
  • Beneficial: CCTV or Access Control Certifications
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic circuitry and system integration
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Beneficial: practical experience in the following:
    • Intruder Alarm wiring
    • Intruder Alarm installations
    • Control panel programming
    • CCTV system experience
    • Access control system exposure and experience in implementation, configuration, wiring, diagnosing issues
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook, in particular) and other function-specific specialized software programs. Ability to develop spreadsheets and modify formats.
  • Proficiency in computer operation, business, and sales software
  • Server 2019/2022 onward, virtualization
    • Server management, maintenance and automation
    •  Server and network planning, designing and implementations with documentation
    •  Microsoft SQL Server, Computer Networks (URL, DNS, Proxy, Domain, IP), IT network security 
  •  Advantageous: Integration technologies and programming understanding: Web Services (SOA, xml, REST) 
  • Good communication skills with working knowledge of English language, written and verbal
  • Drivers license required.
  • Travel flexibility. Travel across Africa and Middle-East is required and other countries sporadically
