Sustainable innovation for increased customer value
More and more of our customers demand sustainable locking and security solutions, mainly with regard to energy savings and the health of the residents. Sustainable innovation is crucial to meet customer requirements and ASSA ABLOY has developed specific methods for integrating sustainability into product development.
Towards zero waste
We strive to minimize waste wherever possible. Our mantra is "Reduce, Recycle, Recycle", where the focus is on moving the waste higher up the waste ladder to avoid it occurring from the beginning. In Europe, the Middle East and Africa, 15 of our facilities have reached the goal of zero waste to landfill. To verify this statement, we have engaged the internationally recognized non-governmental organization Carbon Trust.
Environmental product declarations (EPDs)
We are at the forefront of a more transparent and sustainable global industry by participating in the EPD program and have since 2008 produced over 250 environmental product declarations in several different product categories.
Education for increased awareness
To increase awareness of sustainability issues, we provide short, interactive web courses for employees and give them the authority to act. Our environmental teams help us to operate in a more efficient, innovative and sustainable way.
