Tip 1: Check your premises and current systems
If you want to keep your home, possessions and loved ones safe, it’s worth putting in the extra effort. The same can be said for your offices, employees, important documents and assets. Even if your windows are up, the sight of a phone or bag is enough temptation for a criminal to strike with a smash-and-grab.
Tip 3: Take care when shopping
Especially during holiday periods, shopping malls can become a place of danger. By choosing a handbag with a zip, it’s difficult for criminals to get into and take your belongings. It’s also important to keep your wallet out of sight and, if possible, avoid drawing or carrying large volumes of cash at the mall. Keep your trolley in your sights at all times and if you are going to be purchasing expensive items, we suggest that you make these your last stops before you leave. This will prevent theft of these items whilst you browse stores.
Tip 4: Be aware of your surroundings
Even if you find yourself in a secure space like an underground car park, there could still be some risk involved. By being alert and observant you won’t be an easy target for opportunistic criminals. Remote jamming is a reality, especially in these parking areas so always make sure that your vehicle is locked. Again, you should keep those valuables hidden so that the temptation to break into your car is gone.
