Ulm Day Clinic is part of the Söflingen Day Clinic Group, where an entire spectrum of anesthesia and operations has been carried out since 1998: Approximately 8,000 operations are performed by more than 30 inpatient physicians from 13 specialisms. Close to the operating theatre, a door used to slam very loudly when closing. This led to problems at reception and during procedures. The medical team felt the vibrations, especially during very sensitive eye surgeries.

Ulm Day Clinic chose a Close-Motion^® door closer from ASSA ABLOY, which operates almost silently. The system quickly closes the door until there is merely a small gap. At this point the mechanism smoothly dampens the door’s movement before it slowly and securely closes the door. All you hear is a subtle click.

Close-Motion^® technology combines security, barrier-free access and convenience in a single component that is fully integrated into the door closer housing. This eliminates the need to install an additional component and preserves the appearance of the doors.

In developing Close-Motion^® technology, ASSA ABLOY placed particular importance on easy installation and practical adjustment options. The mounting plate is invisible, the height-adjustable guide rail and axle ensure easy installation. Opening damping and closing speed – as well as closing force – can be continuously adjusted in a few simple steps.

Specific conditions on-site, such as temperature fluctuations, do not require any unscheduled maintenance work and the door closer does not need to be readjusted to work properly.
