Student Residence in Rovigo

The new university residence has 100 beds, with temporary accommodation for off-site students, distributed in three buildings each with two floors.

The buildings, of new construction and modern design, are articulated in such a way as to create livable outdoor green areas between them. The structure provides accommodation in single and double rooms in mini apartments already furnished and equipped; the equipment is designed to accommodate guests in the most comfortable way possible.

There are also several common areas such as the laundry, break room, reception and parking.

The owner wanted to avoid the task of managing a large number of traditional mechanical keys, with the risk of incurring frequent loss of them. In addition, there was the need not to leave the lights on, resulting in an unnecessary waste of energy, whenever the students were not at home.

ASSA ABLOY has been able to respond to both of these needs.

In the mini apartments, the SMARTair^® electronic cylinder solution guarantees entry via card, eliminating the long-standing task of managing mechanical keys. SMARTair^® electronic cylinder with knob is an improved door device: it fits any door and quickly transforms the existing mechanical cylinder into an access control device, with no need of drilling or wiring the door.

At the same time, the SMARTair^® energy saver function was enabled on the card, eliminating waste. In fact, the activation and deactivation of electricity in the mini-apartment is guaranteed, both when entering and leaving it.

In the common areas, such as the laundry room, the staff areas or the break room, SMARTair^® wall readers have been chosen and installed: a perfect solution when it is not possible to install locks nor automatic openings.
