Résidence Sainte Anne care home

Its site spreads over multiple buildings, some over a century old, others from the 1980s and 1990s. During a large-scale renovation of the entire premises, it was decided to seek a replacement for an old, outdated, card-cased wired access system.

The key requirements were:

• dependable, proven access control so facility managers can monitor who goes where around the site, and when.
• a user-friendly access solution for easy operation by facilities administration staff.
• a system which could be installed cost-effectively during general renovation work being carried out in the buildings.
• the flexibility to combine different management systems within the same installation, to suit the security needs of different doors.

Like many modernised EHPAD homes in France, Résidence Sainte Anne puts its trust in SMARTair^®.

Managers chose a combination of SMARTair^® Wireless Online and Update On Card management as the optimal solution. Important doors including to staff / technical areas, and sensitive rooms such as the infirmary, are protected with a SMARTair^® wireless escutcheon or wall reader. Because SMARTair^® devices are wireless and battery-operated, installation and operation are cost-efficient.

The SMARTair^® reader at the main entrance is equipped with both RFID reader and keypad, to add an extra layer of security at such a critical access point. Using the intuitive SMARTair^® software, staff schedule it to remain open between 6am and 11pm, with a valid credential and/or PIN required at other times from the home’s 42 employees, 12 regular independent contractors and numerous external maintenance workers.

For easy monitoring and control in real time, critical doors on the ground and lower-ground floors are managed by the fast SMARTair^® Pro Wireless Online system. Real-time functionality also enables remote opening from a smartphone or computer. Other doors are managed via SMARTair^® Update On Card.
