All eCLIQ cylinders are wireless and battery-free. Power is supplied by the battery in the key. Thus, doors with eCLIQ cylinders can always unlock without their own power supply.
Another major factor in GWW’s choice was that access authorizations can be set and changed flexibly in the CLIQ® Web Manager software. Lost keys can be deactivated immediately. Authorizations with time and room restrictions can also be defined, to grant cleaning staff access at specific times, for example.
GWW issues different eCLIQ keys depending on user requirements. For example, the eCLIQ Connect key enables access authorizations to be granted at short notice; the keyholder simply updates their key by making a Bluetooth connection between it and the Connect mobile app.

Physically, eCLIQ® keys are robust and suited to even the most demanding environments, including climate extremes. CLIQ® access systems are deployed successfully in both cold, exposed locations and hot, dusty climates. eCLIQ® keys are waterproof to the international IP67 standard.
Usability is another chief concern when we design an eCLIQ® key. Key electronics are managed by a fast processor. A battery inside the key powers both the key itself and, on insertion, the electromechanical or electronic CLIQ® lock. It is easy for a non-specialist to change the key’s standard battery, which has a typical lifetime of 10 years.
