TV report shows how Key Studio software speeds up master key system ordering

Céline Vileyn and Thom van Opstal – Teamlead Master Key Service and Operations Manager, respectively – were both interviewed for the show.

“We offer a complete range of cylinders, locks and window and door hardware but also of digital access solutions”, explains Thom van Opstal. “These can be used in residential construction, but also in business premises and large buildings such as healthcare institutions and prisons.”

He also explains how Key Studio software helps to streamline ordering and supply to mechanical security customers.

“In the factory, we receive the orders via Key Studio. Employees only see the information that is important for them to be able to fulfil the orders.”

ASSA ABLOY Key Studio is a visual tool for creating and maintaining a master key system, as well as ordering cylinders and keys. Using this software speeds up the ordering and reordering process and reduces errors – for both customer and manufacturer.

“Orders result from a locking plan drawn up in Key Studio,” adds Céline.

Within Key Studio, a customer can view their lockcharts and orders via a web-based portal. Authorized changes automatically update the lockchart for all stakeholders.

“The lockchart is a hierarchically structured diagram of all keys and cylinder locks that determines which keys open which cylinder,” she explains.

“As well as our staff, customers can also install the Key Studio program. When they do this, they benefit from faster delivery times.”
