eCLIQ Spark – electronic battery free key

The ASSA ABLOY eCLIQ range of keys just got bigger with the introduction of the first electronic eCLIQ key that does not require a battery. The Spark key uses self-generated energy to opens doors; it is the sustainable option that can be used with all existing eCLIQ cylinder types and the full key range.

Spark symbolises a spark of innovation, a brilliant idea and is the first battery-free key that generates its own energy. It is one of four eCLIQ keys within a system that offers high flexibility for a wide variety of applications, such as industry, critical infrastructures, the housing industry or healthcare. Any business personnel can benefit from the new key, including facility managers and security officers. No matter which eCLIQ key the user chooses – it is always the right choice!

Opening doors with self-generated energy

Spark is the only eCLIQ key that does not require batteries for its use, making it fully sustainable. It can be used as independently as a mechanical key, but unlike the latter, it has many of the electronic functions typical of CLIQ^®. The energy required for the locking function as well as for checking the access authorizations is generated by the key during insertion into the cylinder.

The data transfer between the eCLIQ locking cylinder and the Spark key takes place with the usual high level of protection against manipulation and intelligent attacks.
