Depending on which ASSA ABLOY company you have provided your details to, the following will be “data controller" and responsible for the processing of your personal data.
Marketing of ASSA ABLOY products and services: we may use your data to market our products and services to you, as an existing customer or the employee of an existing customer or prospective customer entity, including to provide you with promotional materials or offers for products and services from ASSA ABLOY (including communications based on your interests, personal and business characteristics, and location), or send you other communications about ASSA ABLOY business and events.
ASSA ABLOY may send marketing-related communications to individuals who have requested them, or individuals in key roles at current or prospective customers who we believe may be interested in ASSA ABLOY products and services. We may provide these communications and offers in various ways, including via email, postal mail, social media platforms, and text or direct messages.
In addition to the purposes above, we may also use your information:
for our internal business purposes, such as corporate transactions, audits, data analysis, to conduct research and analytics about your use and interaction with us, develop new products, improve existing products or services, identify trends, assess the performance of our advertisements and marketing, optimize our advertising and marketing campaigns, and determine the effectiveness of our communications; and
comply with applicable law and respond to requests and communications from law enforcement authorities or other government officials.
We will not use your personal data to advertise, promote, or market third-party goods or services to you. We do not sell any personal data received for the purpose of marketing communications to third parties for their own commercial use.
Consent: We may rely on the consent that you provide us at the point of collection of your personal data or via correspondence to use such information for the purposes outlined herein. For example, you may have agreed to receive marketing materials whilst attending a trade event.
Legitimate interests: We may rely on our legitimate interests to process your personal data, provided that such interests are not overridden by your interests, fundamental rights, or freedoms. In particular, we may process your personal data in reliance on a legitimate interest in the effective and lawful operation of our businesses, maintenance of our customer relationships, continued relevancy of customer and prospective communications, and the effective delivery of information and services to you.
We may transfer your personal data for the purposes set out above:
Some recipients are located in countries outside the UK or EU/European Economic Area (EEA). As in some cases these countries have a lower level of protection than that within the UK or EU/EEA, when transferring personal data to countries outside of the UK or EU/EEA we rely on adequacy decisions, the Data Bridge where applicable or use standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or Information Commissioner’s Office to ensure a sufficient level of protection for your personal data.
We take measures to protect all personal data transferred to a third party, or to other countries, in accordance with applicable data protection laws and as stated above.
We store personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which the data has been collected, and in accordance with our internal record retention schedule. This means that we delete your personal data when such data is no longer necessary to process a request or to manage our relationship. Statistics which have been anonymised may be saved for longer.
The consent captured will be managed according to regulator guidelines, and before the period of validity expires the data subject will be asked for their consent to continue processing of their data. The data subject’s data is deleted from the register, unless new consent is received to the effect that processing of the subject’s data can continue.
