Protect your data against physical threats with the Aperio KS100 Server Lock. Integrates online with almost any access system for better physical data security on-site or in a co-located data centre.
The Aperio KS100 Server Cabinet Lock is a wireless locking device designed to secure server racks and drawers, whether on-site or in a co-located data centre. When you install the Aperio KS100, you monitor and control access to your servers from the same access control system you use to filter access through doors and other openings. You protect data physically without having to wire the rack.
The KS100 fits standard 25mm x 150mm server lock openings, with a static strength of 250 ft.-lbs. Its standard “swing-handle” design comes in left- and right-hand versions with an integrated RFID reader and radio. An LED provides status visualisation.
Like all Aperio wireless access control devices, the Aperio KS100 Server Cabinet Lock is designed for seamless integration with new or existing access control and security systems from over 100 different manufacturers.
It can work with an online system or as an offline lock. This is decided during the product initialisation. When connected online, communication is via Aperio communication hubs with AES 128-bit encryption to the access control system, where access decisions are made. Sensors inside the handle enable a user to know the cabinet door is closed and the lock is secure.
The online lock offers several smart credential handling options to enable emergency access in case of a communications failure with the access control. Up to 1,000 recently presented valid credentials can be cached automatically for up to 30 days, for user convenience and so the lock may be opened without security administrator intervention. Alternatively, the access control system can load, modify and delete credentials to the units for the same purpose with time limitation or permanently.
Aperio Online management enables real-time control over server locks, easy access rights administration, and instant availability of audit trails for any opening or user. It contributes to enhanced physical security for data centres.
The Aperio KS100 Server Cabinet Lock is easy to install and cost-efficient to run, using 2 standard AA lithium batteries rather than the always-on mains connection demanded by wired access control devices. The lock is IP40 rated and certified for operation between –25 and +45°C. It also carries CE marking.
The Aperio® KS100 is compatible with multiple RFID technologies, including iCLASS®/ISO14443B, iCLASS® SE, Seos®, MIFARE® Classic and Plus, DESFire SE and EV1, and NFC.
Mechanical override for the Aperio KS100 is also available.
