Challenge
The Klassik Stiftung Weimar is a unique ensemble of cultural monuments. With more than 31 museums, castles, historical houses and parks, as well as collections of literature and art, it is one of the largest and most important cultural institutions in Germany. Twelve properties are on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
When choosing a new locking system, one aspect that had to be taken into account was that the various buildings are located throughout the city and in the surrounding area of Weimar and that they should and can be accessed by around 380 employees as well as external persons at different times. In addition to the stringent requirements, simple management of access authorisations was also important.
Solution
The Klassik Stiftung Weimar opted for an electronic eCLIQ master key system from the IKON brand. eCLIQ scores highly with its high level of security and flexibility. This means that each key can be programmed individually for each user and access authorisations can be withdrawn individually at any time if a key is lost, for example. Authorisations can also be temporarily enabled for external service providers such as tradesmen and cleaners.
As the Foundation’s buildings are far apart, the battery-free and extremely low-maintenance cylinders are ideally suited for a smooth process. The keys and cylinders are also compatible with the high demands on design and the installation situations of the doors, and integrate optimally into the building concepts of the historic and modern architecture of the sites.
