Challenge

COSMO is an ultra-modern residential complex with 39 high-quality residential units in the Europaviertel district in Stuttgart. The residential building offers unique, comfortable fixtures and fittings based on a completely new, comprehensive system for building technology. As part of the electrical planning, different technical systems had to be linked together sensibly in the building so that they can be operated by the residents comfortably via a single control. This required products with open interfaces so that the individual building systems can communicate with each other and be integrated in

a single app.

Solution

With ASSA ABLOY, the developers found a partner who is a manufacturer of locking and security solutions with expertise and a wide product range for future projects. The 819N electromechanical multi-point locking system used in the COSMO building is equipped with ASSA ABLOY Hi-O technology. This 2-wire bus technology enables different lock states to be queried via an additional I/O module and connection to a CAN bus via a CAN connector. The feedback from the lock can thus be called up via the digital network. The escape door terminal 1386 is also used and is integrated in the escape routes in the building. Here too, an open interface enables integration in the overall network of the building. The wide range of quickly accessible information for the individual locking elements make work significantly easier for Facility Management: The status of every door can be seen instantly – this enables problems to be identified and remedied faster.

To offer the partners the best and most reliable solution possible, ASSA ABLOY supplies the locking components as a completely coordinated system, with dependencies and locking processes saved in the I/O module. This enables fault sources to be ruled out from the outset.
