CLIQ® secures the Bauhaus Museum in Dessau
As in the Bauhaus main building and in the master houses, the Bauhaus Foundation chose a proven master key system with CLIQ® technology

Challenge
The new Bauhaus Museum Dessau enables a comprehensive public presentation of the valuable collection of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation for the very first time. The collection includes around 49,000 catalogued exhibits and is the second largest on the topic of Bauhaus in the world. The building is located in the centre of the city and is a building in a building – a suspended concrete structure in a glass shell. The architecture is characterized by transparency and simplicity in both the concept and aesthetics. The glass façade reflects the surroundings to different degrees or can be seen through depending on the lighting conditions.
The requirements for a master key system in the museum were clearly set out: The solution had to enable the simplest possible management of access authorisations and must fit unobtrusively in the sophisticated architecture concept
Solution
As in the Bauhaus main building and in the master houses, the Bauhaus Foundation chose a proven master key system with CLIQ® technology: The IKON eCLIQ master key system was used throughout the entire building. Every key has an integrated chip. As a result, keys can be programmed individually for each user. The versatility of eCLIQ is truly demonstrated when a key has been lost.
Key access authorisations can be removed individually by reprogramming locking cylinders. Access authorisations can also be enabled on a time-limited basis for external service providers such as tradesmen and cleaners. The keys and cylinders are also compatible with the high demands on design and the installation situations of the doors, and are optimally integrated into the building concept.
