Clearly laid-out escape route testing with new inspection logbook

Constructors and architects can find the entire scope of the work to be carried out at a glance in the logbook. The operator of the escape door system is responsible for the proper operation and performance of the annual inspections and approvals.

Compliance with the inspection authority specifications and the correct condition of the installation must be carefully documented during initial commissioning and the annual inspections. For this purpose, the inspection logbook contains clear and detailed checklists that cover the minimum scope of inspection.

The currently accepted rules of technology, standards, building regulations and product specifications must be applied during approval and the annual inspections. Suitable persons qualified for the inspection must continuously update their level of knowledge. The basis for the inspections are the instructions and other accompanying documents of the devices and components used.

The logbook contains safety instructions, explains the meanings of the symbols and gives brief information about the requirements for conducting the inspections. The most important data on the object and the maintenance contract can thus be recorded rapidly and clearly. Once this has been completed, the relevant checklists and verification forms accompany the object through the first six years: from initial commissioning to the sixth annual periodic inspection.

The verifications contained in the logbook document the regular inspection. It is essential that minor defects are recorded in the minutes. If a requirement point is marked with "No" or "not fulfilled" during an inspection - this means, depending on the context, "not OK", "is damaged", "does not function properly" or "not tested properly" - the escape door system must not be put into operation.
