NOK+ functional principle for even greater convenience in managing the KESO Integra access solution

With the new NOK+ functional principle, even more convenient operation and management will be possible in the future. This is because every KESO Integra access control hardware is equipped with innovative read and write technology. With just one validation point, this allows the viral distribution of access authorizations and updates in an entire building system. The time-consuming process of manually updating all doors is no longer necessary and is carried out completely automatically.

KESO Integra is suitable for a wide range of security requirements and can be individually adapted to any situation. Basically, the modular and scalable access solution is based on the three functional principles: stand-alone, NOK+ (Network on Key, or Offline) and the online version, all of which can be integrated under the umbrella of a common administration using the k-entry software. The big advantage: This effectively minimises security gaps and coordination efforts. Furthermore, issuing and revoking locking authorisations is much easier and quicker to handle. NOK+ and Online in particular offer additional time and cost savings, as these two functional principles do not require each affected door component to be updated manually via a programming device in the event of an update.

Flexible security at the highest level

KESO Integra is also outstanding with respect to its modular and flexible design, because just like in a honeycomb system, an access solution can be extended almost infinitely. These extensions include the unique features of NOK+. Erwin Stump, KESO Mechatronics Product Manager at ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG, explains the advantages of the new viral dissemination principle: "Changes to the central management software k‑entry are forwarded online to a validation reader in the virtual network. Strategically placed at a main entrance to the building, this update terminal automatically transfers all current authorisations of the entire building system to this key or identification medium upon contact with the key or identification medium of the person entering the building. As soon as this person then opens another door in the building, for example the door to their own office or conference room, their status is also updated accordingly. "At the same time, the battery status of the respective cylinder is also reported back to the key or identification medium used. As soon as the person receives an update via the validation reader at the entrance, this information is passed on to k-entry again. Secure data transfer is ensured at all times during this viral distribution thanks to the latest RFID technology and AES 128-bit encryption between the identification media and the door components. The battery-operated fittings and purely electronic Integra cylinders without mechanical permutation function smoothly even in the event of a power failure. All components can be opened manually with an emergency power supply via a programming device.

Convenient and user-friendly management

Thanks to the viral dissemination principle with up to eight validation points, KESO Integra NOK+ requires very few personnel resources. It is supported by additional functions such as an option for creating black and white lists and a convenient overview of all locking events. All electronic door components - with the exception of the validation reader - are purely battery-operated devices and require no wiring. This means that the doors do not have to be reworked. This, in turn, is ideal for fire doors which can be easily retrofitted with KESO Integra NOK+ in accordance with standards.

One management software - infinite possibilities

In terms of optimised "Predictive Maintenance", NOK+ allows for forward planning of maintenance work by displaying battery levels. Security managers can use wizards in the management software to predefine groups of people in an equally simple and time-saving manner and set up different access authorisations or configured schedules for them using the drag and drop function. A validity extension (e.g. every 24 h) can also be activated at the NOK+ reader. Other examples of the intelligent, functional features of the management software are the installation and function assistants as well as the various options for clearly visualising building plans and authorisation groups.

Like Integra, k-entry has a modular structure and is fully scalable – if desired, changed building conditions can be met on a regular basis with appropriate software upgrades. The contemporary design and user-friendly interface in many available languages facilitate intuitive operation of the software as well as the import of system data for quick and easy management.
