Simon Kühne will take on the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG on 1 February 2020. This also makes him part of the management team at the Swiss limited company with headquarters in Richterswil, which is part of the worldwide ASSA ABLOY Group.
The auditor and business economist Simon Kühne has already been active as deputy Chief Financial Officer at ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG since February 2019. He is now scheduled to take over from Christian Kälin on 1 February 2020, who has been CFO at ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG for many years. Christian Kälin will embark on his well-earned retirement in the new year.
Simon Kühne has already been supporting the Finance Team with his specialist knowledge over the past few months and familiarised himself intensively with the operative processes. “I’m looking forward to facing the challenges at ASSA ABLOY”, states Simon Kühne. “I aim to work with my team to help ensure the successful implementation of the goals and visions of the ASSA ABLOY Group and create a lasting added value for the company.”
Simon Kühne studied business economics at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and then qualified as a Certified Public Accountant alongside his professional career. He also successfully completed an MBA in “Strategic Management & Leadership” in 2019. Before joining ASSA ABLOY, the 42-year-old father established the finance department at Samsung Electronics Switzerland GmbH in Zurich as Head of Finance and managed it successfully for many years. Prior to that, he was active in the auditing department at Deloitte in Zurich and Vancouver for seven years. Simon Kühne was also a lecturer at the Vocational and Further Education Centre (BWZ) Rapperswil-Jona in the field of finance and accounting.
Dominique Osstyn, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG, explains the choice for the position of CFO: “We are delighted that Simon Kühne will be joining our management team as a highly experienced and qualified specialist with a proven track record in management. He has already settled in well over the past few months and the team already values his high level of commitment. We would also like to thank Christian Kälin, who has accompanied and enhanced the management team for many years. Christian Kälin played a major role in the integration of KESO AG in the ASSA ABLOY Group as far back as 20 years ago, for example."
With the new management team with Dominique Osstyn (CEO), Aristidis Kotarelas (COO) and Simon Kühne (CFO), ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG will continue its consistent and successful path as a valued partner for mechanical and electronic security solutions. The company develops, produces and sells the traditional Swiss brands KESO, MSL and Planet. With over 660 leading brands in more than 70 countries, the ASSA ABLOY Group is a leading manufacturer and supplier of locking and security systems for all aspects of the door worldwide.
