With FlipLock, ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG offers a family of locks for public or commercial buildings, which feature high quality, flexible application possibilities and very easy handling. FlipLock is ideally suited for house and apartment entrance doors, as well as external doors in public or commercial buildings. From the basic simple mechanical version to the latest mechatronic version, FlipLock access has single-point and multi-point locking that can be used to create the right solution for every application.
Variety of options and long-term planning security
The large variety of options makes it possible to apply the locks to numerous door systems. Thanks to various faceplate dimensions from 16 mm width, the locks can be used universally in wooden, metallic and tubular frames as well as for plastic doors. The FlipLock line also offers the right lock for burglary-resistant or fire-resistant doors, single or double-leaf versions and even overheight doors. The range of locks has been tested in accordance with the relevant standards EN179, EN1125 (escape route protection) and EN1634 (fire protection requirements) and meets the criteria of resistance class 3 (RC3). In addition, the mechatronic variants can be integrated into access control systems. FlipLock access also reports the status of locks to the external evaluation controller via bus technology, so that the locks can be monitored and controlled.
The modular structure of FlipLock is exemplary. Due to the uniform case thickness of 15.5 mm and the continuity of the backset length from 30 mm to 80 mm, different locks can be exchanged or replaced easily, as required. Thus, the full range of products makes it easier for tradespeople such as carpenters and metal workers to select the right product and to provide long-term planning security even in the event of a subsequent change of function.
Easy door opening even with high preloading
The unique flip (tilt) traps with integrated noise insulation allow for the easy and convenient opening of the door, even under high preloading. Even with a pressure load of up to 500 kilograms, as caused by e.g. sealing pressure or a warped door, FlipLock is easy to operate. The bolts and traps are made of high-strength special steel in stainless quality. Thus, tradespeople can ensure the permanent functionality of the door even under demanding conditions.
Functional test without an electrician
ASSA ABLOY offers a special advantage to fitters with its motorised FlipLock variants: available separately, the test box provides a simple, self-performed check of all door functions before and after lock installation, dispensing with the need for an electrician. This allows fitters to demonstrate correct installation and proper functioning to interested parties such as developers directly after installation.
Manufacturer support for fitters
ASSA ABLOY is helping fitters with assorted information on FlipLock. In the near future, a QR code on the lock face plate will also provide technical data and installation instructions for the specific locking device directly on the door on site. Installation videos vividly explain the product line's installation and potential areas of use. If required, fitters also have the option of a personal consultation with an ASSA ABLOY expert.
