ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG is expanding its key range for KESO eCLIQ electronic locking systems in the Swiss market with the first battery-free key. The Spark opens doors with self-generated energy, making it completely self-sufficient.
As the first electronic key to generate its own energy, the Spark is literally the sparking idea! This gives decision-makers in the B2B sector, including facility managers, security officers, technical managers and key administrators, a new freedom of choice never before seen in this form for electronic locking systems: the simultaneous combination of self-power generation, cylinder type diversity and comprehensive compatibility in mixed operation. The Spark thus ideally complements the powerful key concept from KESO eCLIQ for flexible use in industry, critical infrastructure, the housing industry and the healthcare sector.
Electronic door opening – no cable or battery required
In addition to the long-lasting battery technology of the KESO eCLIQ key, the Spark completely dispenses with a battery or rechargeable battery. Spark technology thus offers an unprecedented level of sustainability in the area of electronic locking systems. With the same level of independence during use as a mechanical key, the Spark user has access to almost the entire range of KESO eCLIQ-typical electronic functions. The Spark gets the energy required for the locking function and for querying access authorisations through an integrated mini-generator, which generates electricity when inserted into the cylinder. Data transfer between locking cylinders and Spark keys takes place with the usual high level of protection against tampering and intelligent attacks, which characterise the entire KESO eCLIQ locking system.
Spark opens every cylinder in the extensive range
Whether round profile, half or thumbturn cylinder – the Spark key is compatible with all KESO eCLIQ locking systems from 2023 onwards and also locks all other cylinder types and designs – there are over 60 available. In conjunction with the available furniture, safe and switch cylinders as well as a cylinder padlock, the Spark also offers great flexibility away from the door when designing an access control system that is perfectly tailored to individual requirements. Added to this is enhanced security and aesthetics, as all eCLIQ cylinders are hidden from view as part of an electronic locking system thanks to their flush fitting. The key is also characterised by its excellent robustness, high-quality workmanship and the use of high-quality materials such as stainless steel and glass-fibre-reinforced plastic.
The KESO eCLIQ locking system is distributed by ASSA ABLOY (Schweiz) AG on the Swiss market only.
