ASSA ABLOY has developed an elegant and extremely compact display door terminal for its current ePED (electrically controlled Panic Exit Device) escape route technology. The new escape door solution combines all control elements behind a single small screen, operated via a convenient touch function.
One of the most important benefits of the electrically controlled ePED escape door systems is the simple coupling of two previously independent systems: the safety function for locking an emergency exit and the control of the door technology. With ePED, the door is safely released both when the emergency switch is actuated and in the event of a fault. The new display door terminal performs all the functions offered by a conventional escape door control terminal. As the first escape route system with a touch display in the terminal, it integrates four different modules: Key switch, emergency open, illuminated pictogram and display of time delay.
The new terminal convinces with its elegant and innovative design. The door status - green for open or red for locked - can already be read from a distance via the illuminated LED frame. As usual, the emergency exit door can be briefly released, activated and reset directly on the terminal. All relevant information such as door status, technical details or maintenance information can be called up or configured via the display. The graphic design and situational displays facilitate operation and support fast handling in the event of danger.
The integration of all functions into a single compact component reduces the effort required for installing and commissioning the door terminal enormously. Thanks to the Hi-O bus technology from ASSA ABLOY, the connection to the door technology is extremely simple. The ePED display terminal is approved according to EltVTR and the new EN 13637:2015 standard and offers the option of local or central time delay after pressing the emergency button. This allows the security or supervisory staff to intervene in the event of misuse. For this optional function, however, the respective official approval is required.
With the new ePED display door terminal, ASSA ABLOY offers architects and building owners an elegant, discreet and at the same time contemporary solution for escape door control.
