Career and development of Vincent Kielwasser

After completing his school exams, he studied engineering at the University of Oberelsass in Mulhouse, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (DUT) in 2001. Even during his apprenticeship, his goal was to quickly start his career, even though lock technology was not his focus at the time.

After graduating, Vincent gained his first professional experience in his father’s family business. This period was defining for him, because, in the small company, he got to know all the aspects that need to be taken into account in a company and especially in small dynamic teams.

This experience was valuable when he moved to ASSA ABLOY in 2010, where he initially worked as a CNC milling and turning machine operator. In this position, he contributed his technical skills and helped lead the CNC support. In 2016, he took over as head of the CNC department. "The MSL locks fulfil complex security and usage functions and consist of up to 150 different parts. In order for the mechanics to work smoothly, the components manufactured in the casting or laser process undergo a final milling in our department," reports Vincent.

ASSA ABLOY values skilled leaders in every team, and Vincent was an obvious choice due to his technical background. Taking part in the “Ready for Growth” program gave him the opportunity to expand his knowledge together with other managers from the DACH region, including in the areas of psychology and conflict management, as well as finance and project management. “The workshops took place alternately in Switzerland, Austria and Germany and gave me valuable ideas and impetus,” he reports.
