KESO eCLIQ in focus: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Yes, that's possible without any problems. The existing (mechanical) cylinders just need to be replaced by electronic ones. No structural modifications or wiring are required.
The locking cylinders are maintenance-free for at least 200,000 locking cycles, and the keys operated with standard button cell batteries for at least 100,000 cycles. With careful handling and proper care, they will continue functioning properly for many more locking cycles.
If a tenant or employee loses an eCLIQ key, first block it using the software in your KESO eCLIQ locking system and transfer it to the blocked cylinder list. This prevents unauthorized persons from gaining access to the building. If the actual user needs access again, you can program a new key with the appropriate authorizations. If the key reappears, you can remove it from the blocked list. If you need a duplicate key, these can be obtained from a designated KESO CLIQ trade partner.
The batteries are easy to replace: Simply unscrew the cover, remove the battery, insert a new battery, and close the cover again.
Spark – the innovative key from ASSA ABLOY
Spark is the world's first fully autonomous electronic key. It does not require a battery as an energy source, as it generates the energy required for the locking process itself. This is achieved by an integrated generator, which releases energy when the key is inserted into the cylinder. Spark is compatible with over 60 eCLIQ locking cylinders and designs and can also be used at the same time as other eCLIQ keys.
