Meet Josh Waites

Currently based in Willenhall, UK, Josh is our Head of Product Unit Residential Access Yale EMEIA. He started his career as an engineering graduate at ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions EMEIA.

“During my graduate program I got to work with the high security and safety group based in Willenhall. In parallel, I also worked in Gothenburg, Sweden writing firmware as part of the Hi-O platform. It was a great opportunity to immerse myself in an agile software development cycle, which would be useful for me later in my career.”

Josh Waites joined the Opening Solutions, EMEIA program in 2010 with a bachelor of computer science from Oxford Brookes University.

“After the program I took up a role as smart lock product manager for Yale UK. Since 2019 I have then held the position as smart lock product manager for Yale EMEIA where I am responsible for bringing new smart lock products to market across the EMEIA region.”

Josh says “My favorite thing about my current job, is that I get to focus on identifying what our products need to do moving forward to be successful. I then get to work with our fantastic development teams around the world, and use cutting edge technology to take something from an idea to a real product on a door. ”
