The new high school, Piara Waters Senior High School, was unveiled in August 2022. The 60 million dollar construction project was part of the McGowan Government’s investment in public education infrastructure and a welcome addition to the Piara Waters community.
“Piara Waters has seen a significant increase in residents over the past few years,” explains Darren Johnston, Regional Sales Manager, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions. "We’re excited to be part of such a meaningful investment that will greatly benefit the local community."
The school will not only complement three new Primary Schools in the area but will also ease pressure on Harrisdale Senior High School. ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions worked closely with distributor, Parker Black & Forrest and architect, With Architecture Studio. The project was written in ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions award-winning BIM software, Openings Studio™, which was created for specification writers and architects. The software greatly benefitted the project management by improving the process of door scheduling, visualisation and more.
It was a collaborative effort across the business between the sales team, demand planners who managed the forecasting of the project and the manufacturing team who ensured the project was delivered on time and according to the specified requirements. Now that the first stage of the build has been completed, Piara Waters Senior High School will officially welcome 750 students and 50 education support students with a disability into classrooms for term one in 2023. As a result of the seamless execution of this project, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions has successfully secured the Lynwood Senior High School redevelopment.
