Nambour General Hospital Project

Currently, Nambour General Hospital is undergoing an $86 redevelopment aimed to increase the bed capacity to better service the health needs which continue to grow on the Sunshine Coast. The hospital has been providing health services to the Sunshine Coast community since 1920 and is very proud of its history. The construction project commenced in 2019 when Lendlease Building were nominated as the Managing Contractor. Along with other key stakeholders, Conrad Gargett Architects and John Barnes, the redevelopment has taken place within the existing hospital with an aim to increase its emergency care capacity, house more beds for mental health patients and create a new purpose-built space for the renal dialysis unit. Great care was taken throughout the project to ensure the same patient services were being delivered throughout the redevelopment construction.

ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions were contracted in this collaborative project with Spence Doors to provide the doors and frames, while automation was added through Entrance Systems and Record doors. A major refurbishment and repurposing of an existing building is difficult at the best of times, even more so when implementing hardware for a Mental Health Hospital, however due to the streamlined collaboration, every trade brought their own expertise.
