Networking building services via a central building control system is increasingly becoming the norm in building construction.
Modern door systems are controlled and monitored via IO modules. ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH now offers three different versions of IO modules for its locking solutions in order to be able to precisely meet the various requirements of architects, planners and door manufacturers.
All three versions of the IO modules communicate via ASSA ABLOY’s Hi-O bus technology and are tailored to the comprehensive OneSystem lock series. This highly flexible product family includes a wide range of locking systems for building construction, including numerous panic and security locks with monitoring functions. ASSA ABLOY has gradually expanded its portfolio to give architects, planners, door manufacturers and building operators even more flexibility in selecting a master key system and the right control modules.
Solutions for high technical and architectural requirements
The standard version of the IO modules is mounted on the top-hat rail and offers all the functions required in modern buildings. The second version is a particularly attractive option for architects: The IO module in the flush-mounted box has six outputs and can be integrated invisibly into the wall. Six monitoring functions of your choice can be selected and programmed from the usual standard functions in this flush-mounted version. Both IO modules are identical in the planning, only the mounting location is different.
Affordable and easy to install alternative
As the third option, ASSA ABLOY offers a specially developed IO module that is integrated in the lead cover of the door for ease of installation. This version covers the most important door functions and is dimensioned for applications with reduced requirements. This allows door manufacturers to use an inexpensive alternative. The IO module is suitable for all Hi-O-capable OneSystem locks that are installed with a lead cover. A major advantage is the plug-in cable system: It allows the door manufacturer to manufacture and supply frame and door separately. The function of the electrical components on the interface can be tested at the factory. The fitter is also able to install door leaf and frame separately on the construction site without electrical knowledge. With three inputs for external releases, an external monitoring contact and two freely configurable outputs for querying lock statuses, this IO module is suitable for private homes and apartment buildings or office entrance doors, for example.
