Klassik Stiftung Weimar protected with eCLIQ

Challenge

The Klassik Stiftung Weimar is a unique ensemble of monuments. With more than 31 museums, castles, historic homes and parks — as well as collections of literature and art — it is one of Germany’s largest and most important cultural institutions. Among them, 12 properties make the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

When choosing a new locking system, managers had to take into account the geographical dispersion of sites to be protected: Various buildings are located throughout the city and in the surrounding area of Weimar. These premises need to be accessed by around 380 employees, as well as external people, at different times.

In addition to these stringent requirements, simple management of access authorizations was also important.

Solution

The Klassik Stiftung Weimar organization opted for an electronic eCLIQ programmable key system from ASSA ABLOY. The eCLIQ solution scores highly for its level of security and operational flexibility. Each key may be programmed individually for every user. Access authorizations can be withdrawn for any key at any time — if it is lost, for example. Authorizations can also be temporarily enabled for external service providers such as tradespeople, contractors and cleaners.

As the Klassik Stiftung buildings are located far apart from each other, eCLIQ’s battery-free and very low-maintenance cylinders are ideally suited for easier administration. Keys and cylinders are also compatible with the high demands placed on design and the installation situation of many different types of door. They integrate optimally into the overall design of various sites’ historic and modern architecture.
